Upper Weardale:
Upper Weardale is perfect for walkers and bird, wildflower and wildlife lovers.  Slack House Farm is on the Weardale Way and the Mineral Valleys Project walks, and just 5 miles from the C2C cycle route.
Upper Weardale has a good bus service and is linked to the main East Coast rail line.

Killhope North East of England Lead Mining Museum
High Force Waterfall
Bowlees Visitor Centre
Weardale Railway 
Bowes Museum

Alston, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Hexham and Allendale are all within easy reach. Newcastle is an hour’s drive away, and Durham is 45 minutes away.

Why not try the Black Bull Inn (Frosterley), Bradley Burn Farm Shop (Wolsingham), Allendale Bakery (Allen Mills), Langdon Beck Hotel, Nent Hall (Nenthead), or the cafe at Killhope Museum?
